A Note to Parents
Our desire is to support you in your parenting efforts by ministering to your children. We want to guide them into a personal relationship with Christ by modeling Christ, faithfully teaching God's Word and nurturing them in God's love. We want to communicate the love of God to children by:
- Providing a safe, accepting environment where all children feel loved and valued.
- Being a partner with you in the spiritual nurturing of your son or daughter.
- Providing caring, quality teachers whose lives model the lessons they teach.
- Reaching out to children in God's love and teaching them God's truth.
- Building a strong biblical foundation in an exciting, experiential, and relevant way.
- Helping them gain a Christian perspective as they work through issues they face at home, at school, and with friends.
- Encouraging a heart to minister and providing opportunities to use their gifts in ministry to others.
We want to make a difference in the lives of children by reaching out in effective and creative ways that communicate the love of God. At Bartlesville First, they will feel welcomed and loved. We consider it a privilege to provide the variety of ministries that we have, as an encouragement for children to draw close to the Savior.
K.I.D.S. Church
Kids in Divine Service – K.I.D.S. Church is an exciting, fast paced worship service designed especially for kids ages six through sixth grade. Here they discover that church can be fun and something to look forward to each week. They learn songs that are not only fun to sing, but also communicate spiritual truth and biblical principals. Through Bible stories, object lessons, puppetry, illusion and much more, the Gospel is presented in a way that children can really understand. K.I.D.S. Church helps children to understand God’s unconditional love and assist them in developing the skills they will need to follow a Christ centered life. K.I.D.S. Church is held every Sunday morning worship services.
Children’s Quizzing
Each year our first through sixth graders compete in quiz competitions with children from all over the state of Oklahoma. Our quiz teams are divided into two age divisions (Red Level & Blue Level) and meet on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School Hour. Children’s Quizzing is an exciting way for kids to hide the Word of God in their hearts.
Vacation Bible School
For one week each summer, the church grounds come alive with the sounds of Vacation Bible School (VBS). Our entire building is transformed into a living testament to the enthusiasm and creativity with which we minister to our children. Kids bring their neighborhood friends to learn about Jesus through fun-filled, attention grabbing activities and creative lessons. It’s an action packed week for children kindergarten through fifth grade.
Children’s Sunday School
Children’s Sunday School Classes are offered for children ages 2 through 6th grade each Sunday morning. Children are grouped by grade/age levels and meet in smaller classrooms. Sunday School provides a small group environment with a focus on Bible study, scripture memorization, life application and building relationships. The lessons are designed to reinforce the values of the home, help children know Jesus, and guide
Children's Summer Camp
Each summer we have children's camps at our Nazarene district campgrounds. These camps are the highlight of the year for many children. They enjoy a great week of fun and exciting activities and experience God in a unique atmosphere away from home. While at camp, they build friendships that last a lifetime.
Trunk or Treat
The last Saturday of October, we host our annual "Trunk or Treat". It's a safe, family friendly event where children are able to “Trunk or Treat” at the decorated trunks of various cars in the church parking lot. It's like a big tailgate party with more treats than you can imagine! You'll have to agree, it's a fun and unusual way to “TREAT” the community to a fun family event.
There’s More!
We’ve presented you with some highlights of Bartlesville First Church of the Nazarene’s Children’s Ministries, but there is so much more available. Through such ministries, we look forward to reaching "Future Generations" for Christ.
